On the morning of April 1st, the Institute of Oceanography, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Marine Science held the opening ceremony of technology transferring and coral reef monitoring training in Viet Nam. Mr. Andrew Goledzinowski - Australian Ambassador to Vietnam and Mr. Tran Hoa Nam - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee attended.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Andrew Goledzinowski shared that recently, Australia and Vietnam have implemented many cooperation programs in many fields, including aquaculture and marine science. The Ambassador also affirmed that in the coming time, Australia will continue to support Vietnam in applying modern technology to monitor and protect coral reefs against the impacts of climate change...

The training on technology transfer and coral reef monitoring in Vietnam takes place from April 1st to April 13th 2024. Participating in the training course, 18 students from research institutes and marine protected areas in the country will be guided through the operation process of the Reef Scan Transom system to survey and collect parameters and images related to growth of coral reefs and marine ecosystems.

Also at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Hoa Nam commented that in recent times, Khanh Hoa province has implemented many solutions to strengthen the management of marine protected areas, restore coral reefs and aquatic resources... Vice Chairman The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also hopes that Australian scientists, agencies and units will continue to pay attention to support and coordinate with Khanh Hoa province in monitoring and researching practical and effective solutions to protect reefs coral and marine ecosystems; Applying advanced technology in sustainable exploitation and use of marine resources associated with protecting the marine environment...
