On the afternoon of March 14th, the Khanh Hoa provincial People's Committee organized a conference to deploy solutions to promote the export of goods in 2024. At the conference, after listening to the report of the Department of Industry and Trade, Mr. Le Huu Hoang acknowledged the efforts of departments, branches, localities, and businesses in export activities in 2023. At the same time, he agreed with the target for 2024 is to strive for the export turnover of Khanh Hoa province to reach an estimated 2 billion USD, an increase of 7% compared to the plan (the proposed plan is 1,870 million USD). To achieve the above goal, Mr. Le Huu Hoang requested the Department of Industry and Trade to regularly organize dialogues between state agencies and businesses and business associations to promptly grasp and remove difficulties and obstacles in export and import activities of enterprises in the province; Closely coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to strengthen forecasting and early warning to businesses of goods that may be at risk due to trade defense investigations... On the business side, Mr. Le Huu Hoang requested units to actively participate in training conferences and disseminate free trade agreements (FTAs) which Vietnam is a member, especially new generation FTAs; Research and apply advanced science and technology into production to make products suitable and meet the requirements of foreign markets; diversify export markets, aiming for sustainable export; Enhance digital transformation and e-commerce in production, business, export and import activities of enterprises...
In 2023, the province's export turnover of goods reach more than 1,754.53 million USD, an increase of about 6.2% over the same period in 2022 and reaching 126% of the 2023 plan; The import turnover of goods reached over 1,310 million USD, down more than 17.7% over the same period last year and exceeding the plan in 2023 by 13.4%. Particularly in the first 2 months of 2024, the export turnover of goods of the whole province reached 360 million USD, an increase of 27.32% over the same period last year; Import turnover of goods reached 162.03 million USD, up 23.33% over the same period last year. Also in the first 2 months of 2024, the Khanh Hoa Regional Import-Export Management Department issued 632 preferential certificates of origin (C/O), an increase of 33.3% over the same period last year with export turnover is 48.7 million USD.
